Restaurant Rundown: The Copper Hen

The Copper Hen Cakery & Kitchen
The Copper Hen Cakery & Kitchen is a diamond in the rough. Its cuisine and ambiance reflect times gone by and remind you of what home cooking is all about. A true farm to table eatery, Copper Hen sources the majority of their ingredients locally and makes everything, and we mean everything, from scratch. Danielle Bjorling, co-owner of Copper Hen alongside her husband Chris, described her vision for the cuisine, “When developing the menu I thought about working on the farm all day long with Grandma hard at work in the kitchen making everything by hand. Our menu reflects what I thought she would set down on the table.”
Located in Minneapolis, Copper Hen offers breakfast, lunch and dinner, but is best known for their top notch brunches. Brown Jug believes in offering high quality and locally made products to consumers and is thrilled to have it’s Bourbon Cream on hand in the kitchen.
Creativity is at the heart of this establishment. Not only a restaurant, but also a well known cakery, Copper Hen takes originality to the next level when it comes to dessert. Take the Boozy Pecan Pie Cake which consists of a brown butter cake baked in a glass mason jar. It’s topped with a pecan praline crumble and vanilla bean buttercream with a pipette filled with Brown Jug Bourbon Cream that you infuse into the cake when you’re ready to indulge.
Copper Hen just celebrated its two year anniversary this past month and has grown tremendously since it opened. Stop by for a cupcake or stay awhile and enjoy some of the best farm to table fare around. This is the kind of place that stands by their word to deliver a flavorful meal customers can trust is “real food”. That is something Brown Jug proudly stands behind as well.
Restaurant Rundown is part of our ongoing look at locations that carry Brown Jug Spirits. We appreciate our restaurant partners, and know that you, as fans of our product, are always on the lookout for inventive, tasty drinks and new places to eat!
